The variable frequency alternator is one of the Holding's most recent developments. This unit was developed as part of the Federal Target Program for МС-21, and can be used on both existing and future heavy helicopters. This unit does not contain a constant-speed hydraulic drive. In general, this increases energy efficiency by 15 to 20% on average. Several significant shortcomings of the hydraulic drive were successfully eliminated: low reliability, high cost, and the need for maintenance and replacement of fluids.
The Holding has also developed a new auxiliary power unit APU-90/120. The new auxiliary power unit is intended for narrow-body aircraft. Its major advantages are high reliability, simplicity of design, reduced operating costs, increased service life, as well as reduction in weight and overall dimensions. The main design feature of the APU-90/120 is the use of a 2-stage centrifugal compressor.
The fire protection system developed in cooperation with Curtiss-Wright-Controls (USA) exceeds the parameters of all analogues available in the Russian market. Its units are 15% lighter than analogues, and the system itself is more compact due to a new unit design and lighter fire extinguishers. The most important system feature is fast activation and reaction that ensures aircraft passenger safety. Furthermore, it will have the highest reliability due to false activation protection, as well as being adaptable for various aircraft types. Owing to the modular replacement of its components, operating costs will be reduced, while the service life could increase until the expiry of the usage period of the aircraft itself.
The main and tail landing gears for the Ка-62 helicopter are another vital development of the Holding. In addition, a landing gear prototype for the Ка-62 helicopter will be demonstrated on the exhibition stand. A feature of the Ka-62 helicopter landing gear design is a shock absorber and retraction actuator combined in a single unit. The combined retraction actuator ensures shock absorption of loads in landing, retraction and extension of landing gears and when holding in the corresponding positions. It has small overall dimensions and makes it possible to satisfy the requirements for helicopter landing at high vertical speeds and to use the helicopter for offshore projects.
According to the development strategy, by 2020, the Holding company intends to become one of the top-five global suppliers of 12 aircraft systems, including landing gear, electric power systems, aircraft security and life-support systems, auxiliary power units, as well as fuel and hydraulic systems. The company's consolidated revenues are expected to triple, from 21 to 70 bln rubles, and consolidated net profit to increase nearly four-fold, to 6.4 bln rubles.
There are all the prerequisites for the Holding's ambitious plans to be realised. In just two years since adoption of the new strategy, several profound changes have taken place: a unique distributed design center has been established (over 200 projects under development) and pilot projects for establishing process and production competence centers, introduction of a complex ERP system and a centralized IT service have been launched. Production lines have been upgraded and the most important production processes have been certified in accordance with international standards. The Holding's sales portfolio has been supplemented with new innovation developments, the scope and geography of supplies have expanded, including the conclusion of contracts with international leaders.
“Today the company is ready to offer optimal solutions to the market and compete with international manufacturers for a significant share of the global market,” stated Maxim Kuzyuk, CEO of Technodinamika. “This is facilitated by systematic implementation of the company's development strategy, as a complex systems integrator, which will make it possible to lift our enterprises, representing a whole component construction industry, to a new qualitative efficiency level.”
